M.I.A. \"We must fight!\"

USA hardcore/punk history! M.I.A. were formed in Las Vegas in 1980, moved to Orange County in 1981, and began playing shows at the infamous Cuckoo's Nest alongside Fear, Shattered Faith, T.S.OL., and others. At the end of '81, they went to a local recording studio in Costa Mesa and recorded nine songs in one afternoon until they ran out of money—$300 well spent! A cassette was quickly copied and passed around. A copy of the cassette was given to Kevin Seconds at a 7 Seconds gig in Reno. Kevin passed it on to Tim Yohannan of Maximum Rocknroll. Eventually, it ended up in the hands of Felix Alanis of Smoke Seven and Greg Shaw of Bomp. By mid-1982, M.I.A. had been featured on three vinyl releases: “Tell Me Why” on the compilation American Youth Report by Bomp, “New Left” on Maximum Rocknroll Presents: Not So Quiet On the Western Front by Alternative Tentacles, and eight of the nine tracks ended up on the infamous split LP with Last Rites on Smoke Seven. All 9 tracks from the first tape are collected here, properly mixed for the first time. The beginning of M.I.A. (US) are here to unleash top notch early days US hardcore to your begging ears!!!
