Brain Squeeze is a Portland band that after a demo in 2000 and an EP in 2024 reached the second EP step. Fast, dissonant, old school yet fresh hardcore, played with personality and undisputed energy. The nod to Neos is quite clear already from the band’s name, but Brain Squeeze take that full throttle formula and adds a lot of distortion and snottiness, making these songs a hi-speed noise siege filled with distortion and unhinged punk attitude. They sound a lot like some classic D.O.A. or early Poison Idea played at triple speed, oozing a vibe that reminded me a lot the first songs by Netjajev SS but even something from bands like Culo, The Repos and The Secret Prostitues. Highly reccomended if you want to cut off reality and squeeze your brains out!
