Master's first album is hands down one of those legendary genre-shaping record. Released in 1990 but featuring songs written since 1985, Master's eponymous debut is the perfect hybrid of bludgeoning thrash and the early experiments that would lead to death metal. Standing beside Possessed and Death, Paul Speckmann's band was a pioneer in brutality and got a tremendous legacy that is still going on nowdays. This is an absolute masterpiece from the golden era when genres' definitions were blurry and pushing boundaries was the way.
